Is a referral needed for physiotherapy?
No, you can make an appointment at Move Physiotherapy in by self-referral either as a private client or an ACC client.
How long does a typical physiotherapy session last?
Initial appointments go for up to 45 mins.
Follow up appointments are either 30 mins, 45 mins or 1 hour.
Your physiotherapist will advice you on the appointment length the recommend for your follow up appointment.
Can I cancel an appointment?
Yes, you can. Although we do ask that we have 24 hours notice on cancellations where possible.
Are telehealth/online physiotherapy sessions available?
Yes, please call our clinic to arrange an appointment via telehealth.
What should I wear to a physiotherapy session?
Comfortable, loose clothing that doesn’t restrict movement and allows access to the site of your injury.
What should I bring to my physio appointment?
For ACC covered injuries, if you already lodged a claim, you’ll need your claim number and injury date.
If you have notes, scans or medical records relating to your injury, we recommend you bring these to your first appointment.
If you have not yet lodged an ACC claim, your physiotherapist can help you complete the forms as part of your initial appointment.
How often will I need to see my physiotherapist?
Your Move physiotherapist will be able to let you know what your treatment plan will be after your initial assessment.

Does ACC pay for my physiotherapy treatment?
If you have an accepted claim from ACC, they will pay part of the payment toward the treatment and there is a surcharge you need to pay.

Where is the clinic located?
Our clinic is located at Suite 2, Level 1 of 34 Grant Road (building one), upstairs above Bollywood and Dominos in the Five Mile Centre development in Frankton, Queenstown.
We are easily found by foot, bus, car or bicycle. There is plenty of free parking available.
Does the clinic have parking and accessible access?
There is plenty of parking right outside and easy access up to the clinic via a lift or stairs.
What qualifications and certifications do your physiotherapists have?
As a minimum, our physiotherapists hold a professional qualification of either a Diploma in Physiotherapy (pre-1991), a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, or a qualification gained overseas that is approved by the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand.
Our physiotherapist’s are registered by the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and hold an Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
These are all requirements to practice as a physiotherapist in New Zealand.
What should I expect during my first physiotherapy session?
Your first session with an APM Physiotherapist will typically involve:
